Oscar- and Emmy-nominated editor William Haugse has edited over a dozen feature documentaries including Hoop Dreams, Sunset Story, Stevie, and No Impact Man. He received an American Cinema Editors Eddie Award among other prizes. His work has been exhibited and/or won prizes at the New York Festival, Chicago, Toronto, Los Angeles, Tribeca, Columbus, and Deauville, France, among others.
His directors include Orson Welles and John Cassavetes, Lamont Johnson, Steve James. His own film, “Breakfast in Bed,” starring John Ritter, was “finely crafted” according to the Hollywood Reporter and received festival awards here and in Europe. Haugse taught editing and general film making at the USC Department of Cinema for five years.
In recent years, William Haugse is also an editorial consultant for half a dozen award-winning films. Based in Los Angeles, he has also lived in New York and Chicago, and worked on location in Egypt, Switzerland, India, and half a dozen cities in this country. Trained at the UCLA film department, his early career includes a score of short docs and educational films.
